This article shows many things. One
of those many things are that gay adoption is allowed in many parts of the
world. This shows that if it is allowed in other countries, it should be
allowed in this country, The United States of America. In Germany they allowed
gay adoption under a technicality. However, I believe that any allowance is and
allowance, weather technical or not. We should all be able to adopt, not only
in The United States of America, but in the entire world, with no acceptations.
America should take some tips from other countries. So what do you think?
Should everyone be allowed to adopt?

Wordle
In my Wordle I used words that pertained to gay
adoption. I used words
like LGBTQ,
which stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer. I
also used words like Adoption and Child to show
what these people are trying to accomplish. I used Rights and Equal
to show the LGBTQ community is deprived of. I used Bans and
Laws to show that other people are against them. I used Heterosexual
and Straight to show who they are adopting from, and who
mostly are against them. I used words like Foster and Homes
to show where these children are who are deprived of a family.

The
pie chart shows the percentage of same-sex couples in America who have children
in their households. Only 16% of couples
have a child in their home. That is just a fraction of the gay or lesbian
population. The main reason that this number is so small is because most states
do not allow a same-sex couple to adopt a child. While most people believe it
is the adoption agency who doesn’t allow gays or lesbians to adopt, it is actually
more in the adoptive mother’s hands. Especially in the south, the mother that
is giving her child up for adoption does not think that a same-sex couple is
suitable to care for a baby. The other part of the chart is those who do not
have children. 84% do not have children. However, it is not said if they want
children, but a large amount do. Most same-sex couple cannot do so because they
live in very religious areas, like South Carolina. In places like that it is
not social acceptable for there to be a same-sex couple in the first place, let
alone get married and adopt a child.
